Why tint?

Why tint your windows in Calgary

☀️

Blocks up to 99.9% of UV

Protects your skin and stops the dash, seats and trim from fading. UV gets through glass even in January.

❄️

A cooler cabin

XPEL ceramic film rejects up to 70% of the sun’s total solar energy, so the car cools faster and the A/C works less on a +30°C day.

👁

Privacy & security

Darker rear glass hides what’s on the seats, which is a real deterrent to smash-and-grab theft.

🛡

Holds glass together

Film helps keep shattered glass in place in a collision instead of spraying the cabin.

📡

No signal interference

The XPEL films we install are metal-free, so GPS, Bluetooth, toll tags and 5G work as normal.

🕶️

Less glare

Cuts glare from low winter sun and snow, a real problem on Calgary roads for half the year.

Film options

Regular tint vs ceramic tint

We install two XPEL films. Regular is the value option and looks the same from the outside. Ceramic costs more and blocks far more of the heat you actually feel. Same careful install, same lifetime warranty on both.

Shade guide

Window tint shades explained: 5% to 70%

The percentage is how much light gets through the glass, so a lower number is darker. 35% is a common choice for rear windows: private from outside, and still easy to see out of at night. Darker isn’t automatically cooler, either: heat rejection comes from the film, not the shade.

Install day

What to expect on install day

Tinting is a same-day job for most vehicles. Here’s how it goes.
STEP 1

Book and pick a shade

Book online or call 587-327-3541. Not sure on shade or film? Ask and we’ll help you choose.

STEP 2

Drop off at the shop

Bring the vehicle to 4041 74 Ave SE, Calgary. Most installs are finished the same day.

STEP 3

Clean, cut and fit

Each window is deep-cleaned, then the XPEL film is cut to shape and fitted so the edges sit clean against the glass.

STEP 4

Let it cure

Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days, a little longer in cold weather. A slight haze in the first few days is normal and clears as the film cures.

FAQ

Window tinting FAQ

How much does window tinting cost in Calgary? +
Most vehicles land between $420 and $700. A 5-window sedan is $420 in regular film or $560 in ceramic, and two front windows are $200 or $250. Every price includes XPEL film, professional installation and a lifetime warranty. Full pricing is in the table above.
How long does window tinting take? +
Most installs are finished the same day you drop the vehicle off.
How dark can I go? +
We install XPEL film from 5% (limo dark) to 70% (near clear), and we’ll help you pick the right shade for each window.
Is ceramic tint worth the extra money? +
It depends on how you use the vehicle. Ceramic film blocks up to 96% of infrared heat against up to 35% for regular film, so the cabin cools down much faster and the back seat stays comfortable on hot days. If you mainly want privacy and a clean look, regular film does that for less. Both are metal-free, colour stable and carry a lifetime warranty.
How long until I can roll my windows down? +
Wait 3 to 5 days so the film can cure. In cold Calgary weather, give it a little longer.
Will tint affect my GPS, phone or radio? +
No. The XPEL films we install are metal-free, so GPS, Bluetooth, toll transponders and cell signal, including 5G, all work as normal.
Will my tint bubble or turn purple? +
Not with quality film that’s installed properly. Bubbling and purple fade come from cheap dyed film. XPEL’s lifetime warranty covers film defects.
Should I tint before or after a ceramic coating? +
Tint first, so the coating can go on afterwards without disturbing the film edges.

Tint isn’t just for summer

In a Calgary winter, quality film cuts glare from low sun and snow, blocks UV (which still gets through glass in January), and adds shatter resistance to icy-cold windows. It also protects your interior from the −30°C to +30°C swing that cracks and fades unprotected dashboards.

Looking after your tint

Leave the windows up for the first 3 to 5 days. After that, clean the inside of the glass with a soft microfibre cloth and an ammonia-free glass cleaner, and never run an ice scraper over the inside of a tinted window.

Build the full protection package

Pair your tint with ceramic coating in Calgary for paint protection, paint protection film for rock-chip defence, or start fresh with car detailing in Calgary.
