A car wash removes surface dirt. Exterior detailing goes three steps further: a clay bar pulls out bonded contamination a wash leaves behind, a machine polish removes the swirls and oxidation underneath, and a sealant protects the finish afterwards. That is why the result lasts months rather than until the next drive.
Most of them. Light swirls, wash marring and oxidation polish out, and that is what the Platinum stage-one correction is for. Scratches deep enough to catch a fingernail have gone through the clearcoat and cannot be polished away — we will tell you which yours are before we start rather than after.
A sealant is measured in months. If you want protection measured in years, a ceramic coating is the step up, and paint protection film is the only thing that stops rock chips outright.
